Subject: Stop police harassment of Occupy Sacramento
Below is an email from Deborah M. Noble, a MoveOn member from Sacramento who created a petition at SignOn.org that is getting a lot of attention and may be of interest to people in your area. If you have concerns or feedback about this petition, click here.
Dear Sacramento MoveOn member,
The Occupy Sacramento protesters who were arrested at Cesar Chavez Park have been charged unfairly and banned for life from the park. These protesters are not criminals, and this kind of punishment is unfair. They are peaceful protesters!
The approximate court date is October 26. Our request is that the charges against these Occupy Sacramento protesters be dropped immediately.
That's why I created a petition to City Manager John F. Shirey, City Manager Administrative Assistant Lee Muller, the City of Sacramento Chief of Police, the California State House and Senate, and Governor Jerry Brown on SignOn.org, which says:
Drop the charges! We strongly disagree with the harsh charges against the Occupy Sacramento protesters arrested at Cesar Chavez Park. Drop the ban for life from premises as well. The arrested occupiers were told that they have been banned for life from the premises, Cesar Chavez Public Park.
Will you sign the petition? Click here to add your name, and then pass it along to your friends:
Thanks!
