Subject: MoveOn members endorse Chris Murphy
Dear MoveOn member,
The results are in: Connecticut MoveOn members voted overwhelmingly to endorse Chris Murphy in the
Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.
In his time as a representative in Congress, and his years in the Connecticut Legislature before that, Chris has
shown himself to be a true champion for the 99%. He fought for Connecticut's landmark campaign finance reforms, worked to
include a public option in health care reform, and helped pass ethics reform in the U.S. House to reduce corporate influence
Max, a MoveOn member in New Milford, voted to endorse Chris because he "has been a dedicated progressive
voice in the House for six years. We need him in the U.S. Senate!" Peter, in Waterbury, calls Chris "one of the
most courageous members of Congress, with an excellent track record."
And Mary Ann, a MoveOn member in Tolland, writes, "Chris Murphy has served ably in Congress. He has shown
support for programs that are mindful of the needs of the 99%."
Chris is building a powerful, grassroots campaign to win the primary and then defeat 1%-er Linda McMahon in November.
He earned an astounding 85% of all the votes cast by MoveOn's more than 80,000 members in Connecticut.
When Chris heard about our endorsement, he said:
I'm thrilled to earn the endorsement of MoveOn and their thousands of grassroots activists all across Connecticut. We've
already fought together for universal health care, pay equity for women, and stronger Buy American laws. Now it's time to
take our fight to the U.S. Senate. We know that Linda McMahon is going to vastly outspend us in this campaign, but together
we'll prove that her millions are no match for boots on the ground spreading our grassroots message.
The Democratic primary is on August 14, and Chris needs our help to win the primary and get ready for November. Can
you help him win by signing up to volunteer here?
P.S. Please forward this email to all your friends and family in the Connecticut so they know to support Chris
on August 14.
