    MoveOn.org Political Action is a federally registered political action committee. That means we’re required to disclose to the Federal Election Commission the name, address, occupation and employer of our contributors, and verify that they are permanent legal resident of the United States.

  - Are donations to MoveOn Political Action and MoveOn Civic Action tax deductible?
    
    MoveOn.org Civic Action is a 501(c)(4) organization. Contributions are not tax deductible because they will be used to influence legislation.
    MoveOn.org Political Action is a federal political committee, and therefore contributions made to our PAC are not tax deductible.

  - Why do I have do give my credit card’s verification code when donating?
    
    For your safety and security, MoveOn requires that you enter your card's verification number. The verification number is a 3-digit number printed on the back of your card. It appears after and to the right of your card number. If you are using American Express, the number is a 4-digit number printed on the front of your card. It appears after and to the right of your card number. Providing this number assures us that you are indeed the card holder.

  - Why don’t you accept PayPal?
    
    We do not accept PayPal because we need to ask for specific information from our donors which is required by the Federal Election Commission.

    We only accept donations from US citizens (or permanent legal residents) with addresses within the United States due to rules and regulations of the Federal Election Commission.
