Subject: 10 Weeks: New Ads by Famous Directors/Actors

10 Weeks

We’re launching a 10-week countdown featuring ads from a bunch of America’s hottest directors.  The first ad we’re launching is hip-hop director Benny Boom’s call to get out the black vote.  Check it out now.

Ad: Everybody

Dear MoveOn member,

There are 10 weeks left until the most important election of our lifetimes.

A year ago, most of the experts believed that Bush was going to be a shoo-in. But today, thanks in no small part to the hard work of MoveOn members across the country, we're dead even. And if we really push in the next 10 weeks, on November 2nd, we'll elect a new President.

That's why today we're upping the ante and launching a 10-week countdown featuring creative, funny, and beautiful ads from some of America's top directors and actors, including Rob Reiner, to Scarlett Johanssen, John Sayles, Matt Damon, and many more. We call it 10 Weeks: Don't Get Mad, Get Even! Each week, we'll pair one new ad with a couple of actions we can all take to make a difference as we speed toward the finish line.

Check out the breathtaking first "10 Weeks" ad, Benny Boom's "Everybody," now at:

If you like it, please show it to your friends. Anyone who signs up for MoveOn will be invited to watch each ad as it's debuted.

Then help us put it on TV by donating at:

Today, as the first ad in our 10-week countdown, we're launching a tremendously powerful piece from hip-hop director Benny Boom. The ad has the feel of a music video and highlights the issue of voter suppression, the same issue we engaged yesterday when we joined Rev. Jesse Jackson, Jr., NAACP President Julian Bond, and several members of Congress in putting out a petition calling on the Bush campaign and RNC to swear off tactics aimed at stopping black folks from voting. Benny's ad is brilliant. It is a moving and galvanizing call to African-Americans and the youth of this country to reclaim their power to vote, and we're aiming to air it on MTV and BET next week.

In the weeks to come, we'll be sending out ads featuring the work of notable American film directors and actors including: Matt Damon, Rob Reiner, Richard Linklater, Scarlett Johanssen, Kevin Bacon, Al Franken, Rebecca Romijn, Martin Sheen, Margaret Cho, Doug Limon (The Bourne Identity), Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream), Donal Logue, Ed Asner, Charlie Fisher (Bush in 30 Seconds Ad Contest Winner), Moby, John Sayles (Silver City), Allison Anders, Illeana Douglas, Ione Skye, and many others. If you're on the MoveOn list, you'll be among the first to see these new ads.

Every ad in this campaign bears the unique handprint of the directors and artists who created them. But they're unified by one goal: unseating President Bush in November. That's the singular purpose behind this campaign and it is why folks with this caliber of talent are working side by side with MoveOn members to take back our country.

We've got 10 Weeks to change the course of history. Together, we can do it.

Sincerely,
